Bridleways & Rides 1. Bradford Golf Club - approx 1 hour This is a short and pleasant ride following a bridleway through the grounds of Bradford Golf Club. Turn right out of the yard and head through Hawksworth village. Turn right onto a tarmaced road running through the golf course. Check out the lovely view over towards Baildon. Follow the road across the fairway until you come to a t junction of bridleways ( turning right here leads to Baildon Moor – see ride 3 ). Turn left here and follow the wall. You will come to a gate, go through the gate and keep following until you reach the Guiseley to Hawksworth road where you will turn left and head back to the stables through Hawksworth village. 2. Esholt - approx 1.5 hours This is a lovely ride through Esholt woods. Turn right out of the yard and head through Hawksworth village towards Guiseley. Cross over the main A6038. Take the first right towards esholt and continue up and then down the hill. At the bottom of the hill turn left under the viaduct. Carry on on this road until turning left into the grounds of Esholt sewerage works. Carry on past the treatment works and head into the woods via the bridleway. Follow the path until you spot a large black tube on your left. Turn left here (carrying straight on here will take you to Apperley bridge). Follow the obvious path through the beautiful woodland until you reach the road. Turn left here and follow the road back to the main Guiseley to Hawksworth Road (B6153).  Cross over the junction and head back the way you came to the stables. 3. Baildon Moor- approx 2 hours to get there and back + numerous paths over the moor Turn right out the yard and head through Hawksworth village. Turn right onto a tarmacked road running through Bradford Golf Course. Check out the lovely view over toward Baildon. Follow the road across the fairway until you come to a T-junction of bridleways (turning left leads back through Bradford Golf Club. (see ride 1). Turn right here and follow the path. The path crosses a fairway and heads steeply down hill to Gill Beck. Cross over the little bridge and through the gate. Follow the path around to the left and then you can turn right straight through the field at the gate at the top of the hill. Go through the gate and follow the path between two walls to the top of the steep hill. Follow the road to a double mini roundabout – turn right here. Follow the road to a T-junction. Turn right here and follow the road up to the moor. There is a gate to the left of the cattle grid to allow access. Once on the moor there are several obvious paths to follow. To return home just head back to this cattle grid and return the way you came. 4.Tranmere- approx 45 minutes On leaving the yard turn right onto Hollings lane. Take the first left onto Odda Lane and continue to the end of the road. At the end of the road turn left onto Hawksworth Main Street, continue along this road which turns into Hawksworth lane. Take the first left into Thorpe Lane. Turn right onto Southway, follow the road and then take the 4th right onto Westgate to the end, then turn left onto Southway (2nd left). Turn left onto Thorpe Lane, then right onto Hawksworth Lane and follow the road. Take the first right onto Odda Lane and at the end of the road turn right onto Hillings Lane with Hawksworth Equestrian Centre on your left. 5.Highroyds- approx 45 minutes On leaving the yard turn right onto Hillings Lane. Take the first left onto Odda Lane and continue to the end of the road. At the end of the road turn left onto Hawksworth Main Street, continue along this road which turns into Hawksworth Lane. Take the first left into Thorpe Lane and follow the road until you see buildings on the left through large green grass . Turn left into this drive with the green gates and carry straight ahead past the buildings onto a track, ride around the track and return the way you came. 6.Otley Chevin- approx 3 hours Turn left out of the gate, take the first right and follow the road (don't turn onto Derry Hill). At the traffic lights turn right. Turn left onto a track just after the ambulance station and follow bridleway up the hill (crosses road). At the end turn right then take the first left onto another bridleway. Follow the bridleway straight on, at the end turn right. Follow the road until you see a bridleway on the left (after the Royal Pub). Follow this bridleway and at the end turn right. Follow the road until you get to Danefield car park, turn right into the woods here and follow the bridleway round. Go home the same way you came. Approx times of rides on an average horse mostly at walk with some trot/canter. Home
